Cypress
oil used from aromatherapy derives from
the leaves and woody
fruits of the Cupressus tree. Characterized by a fresh and woody odor,
Cypress oil is used in aromatherapy as a direutic and as an astringent.
It may be helpful on the temporary relief of hemorrhoids as well as in
instances of cellulite.
Hemorrhoids
- add 3 drops of Cypress oil to a shallow warm bath (sitz
bath). Immerse the affected area. Repeat 2 or 3 times a day.
Cellulite
and swollen ankles - add 10 drops of Cypress oil to 2
tablespoons of vegetable oil (olive). Applying after a warm bath, use 1
tablespoon on each limb. Starting at the extremity and moving toward
the trunk of the body, use gentle squeezing upward strokes. You want to
be gently working toward the direction of the heart.
Caution:
do not use cypress oil on sensitive skin or if you have skin
allergies. Do not directly massage varicose veins.
