There are several species Sweet Marjoram that are cultivated
for garden purposes. Marjoram oil is derived from the leaves and floweing
tops of the plant, and has an odor similar to Tea Tree, although a bit
sweeter. Traditionally used by aromatherapists as a relaxing oil, it
can be applied as an antibacterial agent. Some consider it helpful in
lowering blood pressure.
High blood pressure - add 3 drops of Sweet Marjoram oil
to a vaporizer and vaporize for a few hours. May be blended with 2 drops
of any citrus oil to modify the smell. Discontinue using if you feel
drowsy. Another otpion is to add 3 drops of Marjoram oil to a warm bath.
Relax in it for 15 minutes.
Caution - Do not discontinue any medication you may be
taking. Monitor any effects in consultation with your health care provider.
Cuts and abrasions - add 5 drops Marjoram oil to a bowl
