Tea Tree - Melaleuca alternifolia - is a swamp growing
tree native to Australia and New Zealand. The oil is extracted from
the leaves. Tea tree oil is noted for its broad spectrum antibacterial,
antifungal, and anti-inflamatory effects. Traditional aromatherapy uses
include in the treatment of acne, boils, candida infections, tinea,
sore throats and other inflammatory infections. The aroma can be mitigated
by blending with other oils such as Lemongrass.
Genital candidiasis, thrush - add 3 drops to a shallow
bath. After bathing, dry with a clean towel, and apply a blemd of 3
drops of tea tree oil with 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil Reapply to the
area through the day whenever the area is itchy. The blend can be strengthen,
one drop at a time per day. Avoiding sugar, alcohol, dairy, starchy
foods for a 3 week period while using the tea tree will facilitate the
clearing process.
Respiratory infections - add 3 drops of tea tree oil to
a bowl of hot water. Cover the head with a towel to contain the steam
and inhale the vapors. Repeat 3-4 times per day until clear.
